Communications

Initial questions

Where do children learn how to use the media and NNTT?

Who assumes that competency?

What new challenges do the ongoing digitalisation of media and hybridisation present?

How can schools contribute in playing a bigger part in the use of the media and in NNTT?

Work Group description

We live in a world invaded by multiple screens which, overall, are accessed and assimilated by young people of the net generation, regardless of the need for pre-literacy that requieres the synergistic use of old and new converging technologies (PC, TV, telephone...) From here we wish to put the emphasis on essential media training considering the moral and ethical use of ICTs. To this end, without any doubt, we will take into account the family and the scool as agents generating the same training.

We propose the acquisition af a critical look together with a reflection on the ethical and moral use of the mass media and NNTT. And in the specific case of the forthcoming DTT, we suggets reflecting on the change of opportunity this new system of reception can provide. Then we can sit in front of a multichannel TV, thematic, diverse, and inter-active, in mobility.

Likewise, we will talk about videogames, chat, blogs, and how to diversify and denaturalise their use to stop the youngsters from filling up their leisure time and how to covert the aforementioned for use as information channels, instruments for content development etc.
