Initial questions

¿In what measure the museums are continuing a banking model (they operate like objects containers), and how we predict that can interfere the practices located on the Internet in the transformation of this reality?

¿How do we see the dialogue, the coexistence, the compatibility, among the citizens not specialists with interests toward the conservation of the heritage and the professionals of the area?

¿How it is redraw the relation between the citizen and the heritage goods that surround it through the devices of registration and digital diffusion?

Work Group description

We take up again O´Doherty ´s (1976) old metaphore about the expositive space as white cube (neuter, cut off from the racial, political, social context, etc., like aseptic space in which the work, the object, is unconnected of their daily environment and is an untouchable), to propose their deconstruction since the organic, hybrid reality, multisource, reusable, multiauthor, that the digital and the Internet are configuring.

Along the years the white cube as metaphor itself there is reformulate since multiple views and has gone acquiring new readings. Actions, works and reflections that contemplate the territory as patrimony, they are located in public spaces, they put of relief the ethereal patrimony, the communities, or etc. they have gone devising a dissonant conceptual universe with the modern conception that the white cube represents. In spite of it, we believe that still remain inheritances, inertia, of that modern tradition that survive in our systems of musealitation and also in the eye of the spectator that is worthwhile to revise. And concretely, we propose that review since a perspective that come to consider the repercussion of the digital reality, hiperconnected and collaborative, where the individual is a producer and consumer of cultural goods.
