Pedro Andrade's areas of scientific activity are Sociology of Urban Culture/Arts and Comunication/Information Technologies.
He has a Doctorat de 3ème cycle at École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales, Paris, supervised by Marc Ferro, and a Phd in Sociology of Culture at Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (FCSH"UNL) Lisbon, with the maximum grade ('Muito Bom com Distinção e Louvor por unanimidade').
Pedro teaches at Faculty of Fine Arts at Lisbon.
From 2000 to 2005, he was co-ordinator of project 'Scientific Technological Literacy and Public Opinion: the case of Science Museums', with financial support from Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia-FCT, and classification 'Excellent' by an international referee.
Andrade is now Co-ordinator of project 'Public Communication of Art: the case of global/local art museums', funded as well by FCT, at CECL,FCSH"UNL.
He prepares 2 more projets at Centro de Administração e Políticas Públicas - Instituto de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (UNL), with constituted webs of researchers from several countries in Europe and North-South America.
